About TileKingdom

Who We Are

We're Matthias and Fabian, two math nerds who got way too obsessed with tile-laying games.

Matthias just wrapped up his Master's in Math (he also did Computer Science as his Bachelor's, which is why our website actually works). Fabian's still grinding through his PhD in Mathematics, with some CS on the side. We've been study buddies since day one, and somewhere between problem sets and coffee breaks, we realized we both had the same complaint: why isn't there a better way to play these games online?

How TileKingdom Started

Honestly? We were just frustrated players who wanted something that didn't exist yet.

You know that feeling when you love a game but keep thinking "if only I could change this one thing..." Well, we actually did something about it. Instead of just complaining, Matthias started coding and we both started designing what we'd want to see in the perfect tile-laying platform.

We're not trying to reinvent the wheel here. We love the classic gameplay that's been around for decades. But we also think there's room to make it better—more flexible, more social, more competitive.

What Makes Us Different

TileKingdom isn't just another game clone. We've added stuff you won't find anywhere else:

  • Different tile drawing modes – because sometimes you want to shake up the strategy. Our chess mode allows for deeper planning of moves ahead.
  • Customizable scoring – change the rules, change the game.

The core game is completely free. We want everyone to be able to jump in and play without barriers.

We're also working on some advanced features for players who want to dive deeper—stronger AI opponents, game extensions, AI-powered replay analysis. Some of these might be premium features down the line, but the heart of TileKingdom will always be free to play.

What We're Building

This isn't just about the game—it's about the community around it. We want TileKingdom to be where people come to play, compete, and connect with other strategy game fans.

Right now we're focused on getting the fundamentals right. But we've got plans for tournaments, ranking systems, and building up a real competitive scene.

The Math Connection

Yeah, we're both mathematicians, and it definitely shows in how we approach game design. We think about balance, probability, optimal strategies—all that nerdy stuff that makes games actually fun to play competitively.

But don't worry, you don't need a math degree to enjoy TileKingdom. We just use our background to make sure the game mechanics are solid and fair.
